My Story

I am not the type of girl to set out on a wayward path toward 'finding myself'.
I am not the type of girl to exit my pre-planned life and to close the book on faded dreams.
I am not the type of girl to take major risks with no sense of resolve.
I am not the type of girl to do this.

But you know what? Screw that girl. This is way more fun!

I was that girl that had everything figured out. School came easily and naturally to me. I had great internships and great networking contacts. I was one of the lucky ones who found a job in my field and secured an offer even before I graduated.

I remember starting my first day at the advertising agency where I used to work, a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 22-year-old, thinking that this was it. This was everything that I had worked for and this was where I was going to live my best life. Boy was I wrong.

Cue quarter-life/identity/existential crisis.

After a loathsome year and a half of having my soul stolen and my dreams crushed, I made a life-changing decision to do whatever it takes to live my best life possible. I have no idea what that is, yet, but that is exactly the point. In the mean time, I am taking up residence in Suwon, South Korea teaching kindergarten and elementary school kiddos.

Now I am heading off into the sunset, arms wide open, ready to embrace life and everything that it has to offer. This isn't a quarter-life crisis - it's a quarter-life discovery and this is my journey.
